A legacy in presidency

Newcomb Spring’s Vice President of Business Development, Don Jacobson III, will be inducted as SMI’s president at the 2024 SMI Annual Meeting, April 6-9th. Don is following in his grandfather’s and father’s footsteps with this accomplishment.
“It’s exciting to know that I’m walking in the footsteps my grandfather and my dad both traveled,” said Jacobson. “It’s going to look interesting in the history books, but it shows that our family and our company have been invested in the industry. That we are always available and always willing to work hand-in-hand with not only our suppliers, but also our competitors to make it a better industry in North America.”
Newcomb Spring has long been a supporter and charter member of the Spring Manufacturers Institute, or SMI, whose goal is to educate spring manufacturers across North America. In 1933, George Jacobson, Don’s great-grandfather, helped found the SMI, and Newcomb has been an active supporter ever since.
"SMI is a great organization that brings together the whole North America Spring making community. Having spent over a decade working with its leadership team on the board of directors and executive board, I am excited to become the organization's next president and be able to focus my two year term on education." remarks Don in regards to his upcoming presidential reign.
“The Jacobson family and Newcomb Spring are proud of Don for all his accomplishments at SMI, and now for becoming President. I am excited to watch him bring his passion for education to the organization, as well as the many other contributions he’ll facilitate over the next two years.” - Robert Jacobson, President of Newcomb Spring
